The Dangers Of Online Video Games
A buddy of mine plays a trendy MMORPG (massively multiplayer online role-playing game) nearly 24/7. He?s been achieving this for more than a year. During this time he?s gained weight, his grades have fallen significantly, and his awesome self confidence is within ruins.
His justification is that he?s developing meaningful relationships on the web with folks from all of around the world. He would argue that the relationships he?s developing as part of his virtual world might help him deal with others in the real world. But are those online relationships real?
I would reason that they may not be. Will his virtual friends be there for him when his car in time breaks down and that he wants a ride at 1 A.M.? Will his virtual friends date him to get a burger along with a drink on Friday nights? Is his virtual girlfriend really anything deeper than the usual glorified pen pal?
What about his relationships with females? Part of developing your personality and character involves social interaction with people in the opposite sex. People need thus far, just fall in love, and possess their hearts broken. This process enables both men and woman to mature also to figure out what their likes and dislikes are. You need to learn through experience what types of people you?re appropriate for.
Some gamers would reason that the folks that lock themselves inside their rooms and play games 24/7 certainly are a small minority. They would believe that most gamers limit themselves to playing only a few hours every week and that they lead rich lives away from their game worlds. They would suggest that those enslaved by MMORPG?s certainly are a small minority.
But is actually the truth? MMORPG?s are created Abcya 20 to reward people for investing time into the game. Playing more lets them rise to raised levels and gain better equipment. At the highest levels ?Raids? take place where sets of players make an effort to remove advanced boss monsters. These raids usually takes much time to perform.
There was a trendy story published recently of a group of Final Fantasy Online players that spent 18 hours looking to defeat a boss monster. They finally quit when individuals the group begun to get physically ill in real life. Eighteen hours of playing a casino game non-stop! Does that sound healthy to you?
Players in many MMORPG?s must devote lots of time to rise towards the highest levels. Imagine in case you spent those hours learning a skill, or studying for a degree? I know someone who spent over 700 hours in few months playing an MMORPG. That?s over 29 DAYS of playing a youtube video game. Imagine if he?d spent those 700 hours playing a musical instrument, learning a programming language, or writing a novel? There can be a lot of very worthwhile skills that you might master in the event you spent 700 hours doing them.
My advice to young adults would be to steer clear of online flash games that require huge investments of your time as a way to accomplish anything worthwhile hanging around. Instead use that time to better yourself and enrich your daily life. Get out there and meet interesting people, produce a rich social interaction, and date!
