Discover the origins of the town of Orvieto: from the formation of the crag on which it stands, about 700,000 years ago, through to the discovery of St. Patrick’s Well and the burial grounds of Crocefisso del Tufo reconstructed in 3D, the finds of the Villanovian age and even the Neo-Eneolithic age. This is the story of the first settlements and the process of urbanization which over the centuries grew into ancient Velzna, a wealthy and prestigious Etruscan town destroyed by the Roman Empire which would rise again to new splendour in the Middle Ages. To complete the picture of the city’s archaeological history, the closing sequences lead us through the prestigious halls of the Archaeological Museum to present the grave goods and finds uncovered in the tombs.
